Mini- Cuento: “El Cactus Verde” 
Hay un cactus verde. Él es grande y súper cómico. Él vive en México y habla (speaks) español. Un día, el cactus va a la plaza. El cactus mira a un chico y una chica. El chico toca y besa (kisses) a la chica. Entonces, el cactus verde quiere una novia. Pero, hay un problema. Él no tiene una novia y entonces, él está triste.

El lunes, el cactus verde va a la oficina. En la oficina, un hombre (man) toca el cactus y dice «¡Ayyyy!». El cactus no tiene amigos en la oficina. Las personas en la oficina no quieren ser (to be) amigos del cactus. ¡Qué lástima!  Entonces, el cactus verde está triste y está frustrado.

El martes, el cactus va a la tienda (store) de dulces (candies). En la tienda, hay una chica y una mamá. La chica tiene un globo rojo. El cactus quiere tocar el globo. El cactus toca el globo y de repente, ¡el globo explota! ¡Qué desastre! En ese momento, el cactus está nervioso y está frustrado. Quiere amigos, pero es imposible porque no puede tocar a las personas o los globos. 

Después, la chica mira al cactus y tiene una idea. Entonces, la chica pone un bombón blanco en el cactus verde. Al cactus le gusta el bombón. El cactus va a comer el bombón, de repente... ¡tiene una idea! Es una idea excelente. ¡Está emocionado!

El cactus mira el bombón, mira la tienda de dulces, y mira el banco (bank). Entonces, el cactus camina y va al banco. Él quiere dinero porque quiere muchos bombones blancos. Pero, él no come las bombones porque tiene una idea fantástica. Entonces, él pone la tarjeta de crédito (credit card) en el banco y saca dinero. 

Después (later), el cactus verde va a la casa. En la casa, él no come los bombones porque tiene una idea diferente. Él se pone bombones en la cabeza, se pone bombones en los hombros, en las manos (hands), en los dedos (fingers), en las rodillas, en los pies, etc.... No se pone bombones  en lo ojos o en la boca. 

El miércoles, el cactus va a la oficina. Todas las personas en la oficina quieren ser (to be) amigos del cactus. Todas las chicas tocan y besan (kiss) al cactus. Ellos (they) quieren tener fotos con el cactus. ¡Por fin, el cactus tiene amigos!. El cactus verde es muy popular.  ¡En ese momento, el cactus está muy contento!  ¡Qué padre!

Hay una chica que se llama Luisa. Ella es muy talentosa. Ella puede jugar al voleibol, y ella puede correr súper rápido. A ella le gusta comer tacos de carne asada y escuchar música de Rihanna.
Un día, un chico mira románticamente a Luisa. Él se llama Manuel. Él le dice a Luisa «¿Quieres ir (to go) a homecoming conmigo (with me)?» Luisa está emocionada porque a ella le gusta Manuel. Entonces, ella dice, «¡Sí! Muchas gracias.» 

Pero, Luisa tiene un problema. ¡Luisa no puede bailar(dance)! Entonces, ella está muy nerviosa porque ella quiere impresionar a Manuel en homecoming. Entonces, ella pregunta (asks) su amiga Josefina, «Josefina, ¿puedes enseñarme a bailar?» Josefina le responde «¡Lo siento, yo no puedo! Yo no puedo bailar bien.» Entonces, Luisa está frustrada y pregunta a una amiga diferente que se llama Ana. «Ana, ¿puedes enseñarme a bailar?» Ana mira a Luisa y le dice «lo siento Luisa, yo no puedo bailar. No puedo enseñarte.» 

En ese momento, Luisa está muy frustrada porque necesita una maestra de baile. Entonces, camina a casa. En casa, el papá pregunta (asks) «¿Estás bien Luisa?» Luisa responde «No estoy bien papá. Tengo un problema y estoy muy frustrada. Voy a homecoming con Manuel, pero no puedo bailar.» De repente, el papá tiene una idea y está muy emocionado y dice «¡Luisa! ¡Yo puedo enseñarte a bailar! ¡Qué solución!
